В интервью есть интересующая нас лексика по теме “Блоггинг” и так называемые вводные слова и выражения. Лексика по теме “Блоггинг” выделена подчеркиванием, а вводные слова-выражения - жирным шрифтом. Понимание текста можно проверить в посте, посвященном этому интервью.
Как работать?
- Распечатать списки, написать транскрипцию, как всегда, повесить на видное место, вариант - начитать на аудио-носитель вместе с переводом, и слушать, и слушать … (до бесконечности!!).
- Попытаться понять по ключевым словам, о чем пойдет речь.
- Прочитать текст.
- Сравнить свое понимание с переводом.
- Составить предложения, используя лексику урока. Например, Я люблю часто получать комментарии от моей читательской аудитории. Уж слово любить / нравиться (to like) знают все!
- Помните: на первом месте - подлежащее, на втором - сказуемое. Ни в коем случае наоборот. До и после этой пары можно употребить обстоятельство времени и места. Это то, что отвечает на вопросы когда? и где?

2. What is the most relevant thing in blogging?
- I would say that the most relevant part is the user feedback/comments. Many of the blogs that I read tend to be responses to or rewrites of other blog posts. Often when I find one of these it is only the comments that I will read through. It seems to be more interesting to hear from people who are reading about a topic for the first time and what they have to say about it. Readers bring up great questions and often will provide more insight than the Blogger.
3. What are the most important conceptual and structural blog-universals?
- Be fresh, be concise, be useful.
4. What are the possible directions in blog development?
- The directions one can take are endless. Generally speaking - choose a topic that you love and are passionate about and try and write only about different aspects of that same topic. Blogs can be about anything, but what makes them interesting is when you can tell the writer genuinely cares about what they are writing about. What you shouldn’t do is vary your blogging topics wildly - when that happens the blog just becomes an online journal and loses focus.
5. What does blogging give you?
- Other than the few bucks a month in ad revenue blogging gives me a place where I share what I have learned… and get feedback from other people. I first started my blog just so I could brand myself in my industry and network with people across the world. Now when I write, since I have a larger readership, it makes me want to write better. Other than just getting my name out there blogging has improved my writing ability and even changed how I think - every time I hear a great idea I think to myself “That could be a great blog topic”
6. What do you dislike in blogging?
- No matter what you write about there will always be the trolls who post negative comments. They sometimes bash everything from what you wrote to your personal appearance… It takes a little while before you become used to these things and it is never fun. You just need to learn how to ignore it or respond in a respectful manner. Also there is a lot of spam comment bots out there… they are pretty annoying too.
7. How would you characterize female blogging?
- I don’t know if I differentiate between male and female authors. If the content is great I don’t care if a monkey wrote it.
8. In what way does a typical American blogger relax (music, movie, books, etc)?
- I don’t know if I am a typical American blogger but I’m sure we relax just like everyone else… on our yacht’s playing catch with solid gold balls… But seriously I love to read, hang out with friends, go out to bars, get shot down by women… all the usual stuff that you would expect from a middle class nobody
9. What do you know about Internet and blogging in Russia?
10. What would you wish to bloggers in Russia?
- I really know very little about blogging in Russia… but from what I have seen it looks like some pretty great stuff is going on and I hope the Russian blogging community continues to grow and flourish
